EARS

BUILD CODE IMPROVISE PERFORM
Ears presents an opportunity to blur the boundaries between existing forms of electronic music making through a series of innovative workshops. Drawing on the “Beyond Soundscape” theme of this year’s Sonorities 2013 at Queen’s, workshop participants will learn how to build both physical and digital instruments, find new way to interact using them, and stage a public performance as result. In addition to engaging members of the public, the exhibition will also forge new connections between artists, improvisers and musicians at the Sonic Arts Research Centre who have yet to work together.

HOLD^UP
'This is a stick up'

Hold^up will show « This is a stick up »: a two-steps proposal. The first mouvement is a performance-conference on the 13th of April which will herald a debate on the collective matter. The second mouvement creates an exponential artwork and at the same time is a way of putting Hold^up in a deft mise en abîme. Hold^up has chosen to explore what makes « image » in our societies, by buying the copyrights of an archive, which content relates to a mythic representation of a bank robberry. The character stands in front of us and « target » us as to better question us.
